Patrick Stack began his career in show business as an actor and a Stand-Up Comedian. He has appeared in such films as Rambo: First Blood, creating the role of Clinton Morgan, the hapless National Guard Leader who “had to be back at the drugstore on Monday”. He also appeared in F/X starring Brian Dennehy, The Last Of The Finest, starring Brian Dennehy, Jack Reed: Dressed to Kill, starring Brian Dennehy (see a pattern here?). He appeared in such television shows as “Cheers”, “Dynasty”, “Greatest American Hero”, “Simon & Simon”, “Trapper John, MD.”, “Hunter”, “Golden Girls”, “It’s a Living” and had a recurring role on “Search for Tomorrow.”
In addition to performing with the LA Based improvisation troupe The Groundlings, Stack partnered with Nathan Lane for seven years and appeared around the country as the comedy team of “Stack & Lane”. They received top billing in Clubs such as The Copacabana, The Playboy Club Circuit and The Duplex in NYC. In addition to performing extensively in NY and LA, they toured as the opening act for Al Jareau, Air Supply, Michael Franks and The Letterman. They also appeared on talk shows such as Merv Griffin, Tom Snyder, Mike Douglas, and Norm Crosby.
In 2002, Stack decided to try his hand at producing Motion Pictures and Television Shows. He quickly pulled together a team and produced the award winning HD short “Hiding In Walls,” using the film as a calling card for his new company, Out of Pocket Films, Inc. which has offices at Sony Studios in Culver City, CA
After spending a couple of years acquiring properties to develop, Stack produced his first feature length film in 2006. Welcome to Paradise an inspirational family film starring Brian Dennehy & Crystal Bernard, and written & directed by Brent Huff, was released in 2007 by First Look Studios and was awarded “4 out of 5 Doves” from the prestigious Dove Foundation for its production quality and uplifting message. It has been garnering tremendous response from family film friendly consumers and Out ofPocket Films is now prepping a holiday themed sequel.
In October, 2007, Stack re-teamed with Brent Huff and produced the film noir thriller, Cat City which Huff wrote and directed. That film stars Rebecca Pidgeon, Julian Sands and Brian Dennehy and will be completed in Spring, 2008.
Patrick lives in Manhattan Beach and shares his home with his two daughters, Emma and Winnie, and one ridiculously over excited mutt named Sweet Pea.
